We still have people who judge based on looks, race and religion, and discriminate the so-called “oppressor”. So don’t let your guard down.

Faith In A New Dream

sakurasdreams:

I knew that Snow-kun was hiding how he felt. I didn’t want to press the issue because he was still hurting from what transpired yesterday. “We don’t have to go if you don’t want to.” Smiling encouragingly, we ate our breakfast. I gazed at Gadot whispering into Maqui’s ear. Maqui blushed and smiled sheepishly. It was so cute seeing the two together. Gadot and Maqui were dating and I was very happy for them.

After breakfast, we all washed the dishes and all went to do our own thing. I was walking outside feeling the breezing wind when Snow approached me. I didn’t know what was gonna happen today, but I just hope I can cheer the hero up. Etro he needed to smile again…a true smile…

Snow wasn’t one to snoop in at other peoples’ businesses during this time —he didn’t even notice the affection exchanged between Gadot and Maqui. Sure, as cute as they might be, the blonde might toss in a comment or two, but today wasn’t doing it for him. Especially after the nightmare he had experienced…

I don’t know, man. Don’t even know what’s right or wrong no more… a breath was released from Snow as he finished his meal, doing no more than moping around the house. Lebreau later told him to go catch some fresh air, so that’s what he did. He approached Johnny in the process.

image ”Hey, man.” Snow greeted, a fake smile to hide the sadness and uncomfortness in his chest.

I turned to my blonde friend and smiled. ”Hey big guy.” ”We can go down to the shores and watch the waves.” ”How’s that sound?” Snow-kun nodded his head and grinned, but behind that grin, I saw the pain in his eyes. Approaching the blonde man, I wrapped my arms around his large frame into my embrace and burried my head into his chest. ”I’m sorry you’re hurting…” ”I want to make you feel better.”

“We all come into this world alone, and that’s how we’re gonna leave it.”
Coming from Snow, I think this line shows a lot about him. After the loss of the woman he thought he would spend his entire life with, the other losses in his life appear prominent: also known as, the death of his parents. Sure he might not have known them, but for someone to lose such important figures in their life at such a young age really sticks with them. That loss is the reason we had Snow as the “Hero who wanted to protect everyone” in FFXIII - he did not want others to lose and suffer like he most likely did.
Throughout XIII-2, we saw something very similar. Snow left Serah not only to protect her, but to find HER family. I also find it iconic that Snow was not present in Serah’s last moments, which is part of his final undoing.
As we have seen in the first glimpses of Snow in Lightning Returns, he obviously is a broken man. His hair is no longer styled up, he’s let it grow quite a bit, and that cocky hero-smile we’ve all seen throughout the two previous instalments, that’s long gone. Snow, once again, has lost his family.
If you remember, in XIII-2, Snow’s engagement necklace had been with Serah, yet we see him now wearing it around his neck once again. It could be that this necklace is the only thing keeping him somewhat sane - that, maybe, if he tries REALLY hard, Serah will somehow come back to him. But even that idea is not large enough to give him hope, as we see with this quote and “…When I die, will I get to see you again?” Snow, the man whose famous line is “Heroes never die,” now finds death more attractive than life. Even in XIII, when he tells Hope “Even if you’re a L’Cie, you gotta keep fighting,” that mindset is long gone. He’d rather die, than fight for his life.
But if you think about it, what does he have to fight for anymore? His parents are long gone, Serah is dead, and even Lightning, who he trusted, appears to be apposing him.
Though this has been a really long-winded post, I’d just like to go back to this quote once again as I feel it accurately depicts Snow’s life. He was “born alone,” and now that Serah’s gone he’s “gonna [die] alone” as well. Serah, his ray of hope throughout XIII is now his ray of death. Snow has lost his fighting spirit and has accepted death - if he can die and be with Serah, then so be it.
